This poster was printed in 1972. This poster depicts Zhu De, Mao, and Zhou En Lai. Zhu De was the general who help Mao to defeat the Nationalists in 1949. Zhou En Lai was Mao's most loyal lackey. He was Mao's Prime Minister. All three men died in 1976, the year of the dragon. A serious earthquake occurred near Beijing and killed more than one million people. According to Chinese superstition, (which wasn't allowed during Mao's era) earthquakes near the capital during the year of the dragon mean that the nation will undergo strife, normally the death of the King.
